Of course we're still on the countdown and Micaela made another check off list today. She's pretty excited. We're all just about over the flu. Micaela had it first, then me, now Brian. One of these days we'll all be well again. I got pretty dehydrated and started to have contractions so I went to the hospital and they pumped me full of fluids and now I feel much better. Some church members brought us some food last night which was so nice cuz I really didn't have the energy to cook. I slept for almost 14 hours with only a couple of potty interruptions. I really needed the sleep. Today I feel so great! Like I should have been feeling for the last 3 weeks. I guess I'll ask for fluids more often :-)

5 more weeks!
We're on a serious countdown now! We're so excited for our new arrival. I've been really REALLY sick this last week and been in bed for about 5 days. So all the lazing around has really accelerated my swelling. Now I need to get up and move to release some of that water retention :-) But the baby's doing great and so are Brian and Micaela. There's really not a whole lot to report right now. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I'm on insulin now. But the doctor has reassured me that it will most likely go away just after delivery. It better cuz What a Hassle! I commend anyone who has to live with diabetes. What a pain in the fingertips!
Dad's doing better now although he went back to the hospital a week later. It wasn't his heart this time. It was low blood sugar and sever dehydration. We're so blessed that he keeps getting better. His stents are all working very well and he's feeling a bit better every day. God is GREAT!
Brian's birthday is this Friday. He says he's turning 29 again but it's really his BIG 40! Isn't that amazing! He looks so great for 40! He's blessed with really great skin ;-) We might go to the coast but he's undecided on what he wants to do. So we'll put pics up later to let you know where and how we celebrated. Micaela's excited about it of course. So I'm sure she'll want to go see the beach. Maybe we'll let her decide.
So Happy March and I hope it's lucky for us all. Keep in touch!

February Already?
I cannot believe that it's the middle of February already! Where is the time going? Every day is filled with something. Last week I learned that I may have gestational diabetes. So I went and took a 3 hour glucose test at Silverton hospital. I was worried about how my body would handle it, but everything went really well. Now I'm just waiting for the results. I'm so close to the end of my pregnancy that I hope I don't have to be on insulin for the last 6 weeks. We'll see.
Dad had another heart attack last week. The doctors say it was a mild one. If there is such a thing! He had another stent put in. Last year he had 2 put in on the other side of his heart. The 1st stents are still doing well and this 3rd one seems to being doing well also. He's recovered much faster than last year and the doctors say it was good that he came in early. Otherwise.....well, I'm sure we can all guess. We're all so grateful that he's doing better.
We're getting more and more excited for the arrival of our new baby. Micaela's even counting down the days. I briefly explained a c-section to her and she was pretty adamant about not being there for the surgery. :-) I laughed a little and said That's ok, sweetie, you're not invited :-) She was grateful for that.
I hope everyone's doing well and I hope to hear from you soon. I'll keep you updated throughout the next 7 weeks 2 days!
LOVES!
p.s. Thank you to everyone who voted for the "girl" names on our poll. Abigail won the poll, but it was still undecided at our house. Later on we finally came up with a name we both liked. So the boy and girl names are posted to the right. Thanks again!

Delivery is Scheduled!
We scheduled a date for the c-section. April 8th! That sounds like a pretty good date don't you think. A birthday of 04/08/09 sounds pretty good to me! We picked out two little outfits for the baby for the hospital. The "girl" outfit is purple and the "boy" outfit is blue. They're both so adorable. We also picked out some gender-neutral jammies for after the hospital. Pretty much all yellow stuff but still really cute. Today I was given some baby wipes and desatin cream which will be really helpful. All is well with me and the baby. Baby moves throughout the day but is pretty quiet at night. Not too wild in there so we're hoping for the same temperament as Micaela. We're all really excited! We're having the babyshower after the baby's born, so we'll let you know when we're having it. I sure hope you'll be able to come and see our new precious baby.

Exciting to see!
I got an email from my nephew Stephen Berry about a news clip that was done just on him. He's my nephew on Brian's side and has recently moved to Bismark, ND to be a sports announcer for the Bismark Bobcats. He's actually the Director of Broadcasting. It was very exciting for us to see. We're so proud of him. We miss him and Emily like crazy. Especially with their new baby on the way. Enjoy the clip that goes along with this.

Some more 1st's
I've started to read novel-type books with Micaela and we've finished our first big novel. Well, big for her. It has chapters and she's never read a chapter book. I'm actually reading it to her but she follows along pretty well. The book was Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. It's a really good story. A bit gory in some parts. But we all enjoyed it. Now we're reading a Spyderwick story called Goblins Attack. It's a much smaller book but it's a fun story. We'll finish that tonight and then start reading The legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. She's really excited about this one.
Our other "1st" was Brian changing the battery in the Festiva. That's our little red car. The battery died over the freezing holiday and he was able to get one from work work. It's a new, 84 month, battery. His company ships batteries for Johnson Controls and he gets one free battery a year. It's pretty nice cuz we really didn't have the money for that. We did spend a couple dollars for a tool that he needed but we needed it anyway. Then he changed it out and the car started right up! It was really exciting. I told him he is my HERO! I'm so proud of him. He's embarrassed that I even put it on here but I'm so excited to have a 2nd car again and that it didn't really cost any money. He even recycled it at work for free. What a blessing it was.
So, YEAH!, we've done some more 1st's and it's only January. This year will be filled with lots of 1st's. YEAH!
