Claire Christina Leder

WELCOME CLAIRE CHRISTINA!!! She arrived on July 7th by c-section at 8:36 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs 6 oz. and she was 19 in. long. "Just a tiny little thing, but cute as a button" her dad, Terrance, said. A few days after arriving at home Claire had lost some weight but is back on track now. All is well according to her family. We are so excited and can hardly wait to go meet her. A picture will be posted and more will come after Nana & Grandpa return from their visit. Congratulation Leder family! :-)

Georgia's Musical

Georgia (Bil and Julia's oldest daughter) was in the Beauty and The Beast musical at her school this month. She played the Baker. Unfortunately we weren't able to attend. But we heard it was very wonderful. I couldn't figure out how to put a video bar of just her video on my site, so here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv4aYFIIcXU . Tish is Home and Julia's new Home!

Today was a very eventful day. I got an early start this morning, well, early for me ;-) Micaela and I went to Silverton to help pick up Amy and Tish. It was very fun helping them get ready to come home. I got to dress the baby and of course Amy dressed herself :-) The hospital gave her a lot of going away gifts. I was quite amazed. She got a quilt, a couple of receiving blankets, a crocheted sweater for Tish and booties to match and an entire dinner for her first night at home. It was wrapped in dark purple cellophane and even included plates, flatware and plastic champagne glasses. I was very impressed. Mommy and baby arrived home safely and were welcomed by Nana and Grandpa in her little room/nursery with a borrowed bassinet from Amy's friend Chrystal. Great-grandma Leder was able to help prepare the house for the homecoming. It was quite lovely.

Another wonderful homecoming story for today is the Morrill's new house. They are getting a new place so they can raise and sell Alpaca (not Llamas :-) Here's a quote from Julia regarding their new adventure:

"Georgia graduated from 8th grade this last Monday and Lil and Ais are at their last day today. Just a half day though and then Lil is going to a party and we're taking G and A to Cottage Grove to finish registering all of them for school down there. The house should be in our name some time today and we'll get the keys and be able to start moving in. We have a bit of painting and rearranging of one room to get done but other than that it's livable. We're so excited! The girls are nervous about making new friends but at least we'll be close enough to their old friends to be able to see them...it's not like we're moving to Florida (which would be Bil's next favorite thing to do!)."

It sounds like a grand adventure. We look forward to traveling to Cottage Grove to see their new home. CONGRATULATIONS Morrill Family!!!

Patricia Leanne is Born!

Yesterday, June 16, 2008, Patricia (Tish) Leanne Lanpheare was born to Amy Lynn Leder. She is 8 lbs. 9 oz., 20 1/2 in. long and incredibly beautiful. She has lots of black hair that appeared to be a little curly. Tish gave her mommy quite a difficult time getting here, but was welcomed with smiles and tears of joy. Amy is quite resilient and was able to stay awake for quite some time after the delivery. Evelena and I were both very blessed to be there during the labor and delivery. It's very difficult for me to see Amy struggling so I was at quite a loss of how to take care of her. I wanted to keep asking "What do you need?" or "What can I do?" but I didn't want to annoy her while she was in pain. So we just kept offering a cold cloth or ice chips and we'd get the nurse if we felt Amy needed anything. The staff was incredibly wonderful and wanted her to be as comfortable as possible. They were great. Amy went into labor at her home on Sunday evening and went by ambulance to Silverton Hospital where Evelena and I met up with her. She was admitted at about 9:30 p.m. and finally gave birth at the next morning at 10:49 a.m. Any amazing coincidence or should I say blessing, is that Amy was planning on naming the baby Patricia, after our mom, since the beginning of the pregnancy and she ended up having her on mom's birthday yesterday. It's so amazing. Amy and Tish are both doing great. They were both exhausted, of course, by the time Evelena and I left them at the hospital Monday evening. Rebecca was able to bring Evelena's daughter, Taylor, and also Amy's oldest son, Alex, to the hospital to welcome baby Tish. Alex was unsure of her but soon warmed up. I'm sure he'll be more excepting of the idea in time. Tish will also be welcomed by her other older brother, J.J. who stayed at Nana and Grandpa's to take a nap while Alex visited with Tish. Amy's boys will stay at Rebecca's, in Eugene, for a week or so until Amy can go with Tish to join them. They will stay in Eugene for a couple weeks while Amy and Tish recuperate. You can leave blessings and comments here for them to read while they are gone. Congratulation Amy, Alex and J.J. WELCOME Patricia Leanne! We're so excited for all of you and love you very much.

Herring Family News

Well, school's out and summer is here :-) I finished winter and spring term with A's in both my Math classes. YEAH! :-) Micaela did wonderfully in 1st grade and graduated on to 2nd. She's very excited. She's finally lost both top teeth and was very anxious to show as many people as possible. Brian's working for a company called RUAN Transportation and seems to enjoy it enough. Not his dream but he's grateful for the work. I'm looking for a job and praying for something to come along soon. We're still working on the house and starting to consider getting it ready to sell. We hope it doesn't come to that, especially with the market so low right now. But we'll see how it goes over the summer. I'm not taking any classes over the summer and that should relieve some time in our schedules. Right now we're all getting over our summer colds and hoping that it passes soon since we're all pretty uncomfortable. We're also anxiously awaiting Amy's new baby to come. Any minute now. Also, Christina and Terrance's new little girl on the way in July. Our family's getting bigger and bigger. We're very proud of several accomplishments lately: Grandpa Terry Leder's writing his autobiography, Rebecca's 1st marathon, Evelena's soon graduation from Police Academy, Julia's new house and of course the new babies. We have a much anticipated trip to DisneyLand coming up in October. We're hoping that still goes through without a hitch. Finding a job or attending school full time may be a challenge but Micaela's pretty sure we're going :-) We'll be sure to take lots of pictures and post them when we get a chance. We've already had two fun trips to Champoeg State Park, an AMAZING trip to Tacoma, WA to see Terrance & Christina & Family, a "womens" weekend with Nana and all the sisters (it turned out to be a BIG family reunion which was sooo... GREAT :-) and a couple trips and over-nighters to Eugene. We have a lot planned for the summer and hope to be able to accomplish all our goals. We're just ready to start making lots and lots of fun family memories instead of just letting time fly by. Micaela entered the Canby Library summer reading program and got her first library card today. She's was completely thrilled. She was a bit bummed that she didn't get to put it in her own wallet but at least she'll have it for future use. We also want to have plenty of learning and active, activities this summer. We're getting more health concious and have a big desire to go hiking, rock climbing, traveling, camping and biking. There's also several sports we're learning like frisbee golf, raquet ball, volleyball, running/jogging, etc. We have a couple camping dates on the calendar and other fun activities through the city. We're really looking forward to a long and wonderful summer. We'll try to keep you updated as things go along.

2nd Math Test

I got my results from my 2nd math test last night. 99%!!!! Yeah! So far, so good. The teacher pulled me aside just before I left and said that I won't need to come to class on Tues. because he is going to make everyone retake the test. But I don't need to since I did so well. Pretty Awesome Huh? Just thought I'd post it. It doesn't hurt to brag once in a while does it? :-)
