One Month, One Day!

It's amazing how time flies! William's already 1 month and 1 day old today. Unbelieveable! He's been so amazing to have in our family. We are truly blessed. He's had some trouble with colic but we're getting that under control we think. We're starting to get a little bit of a routine. Getting use to packing a diaper bag and plan on leaving 30 minutes late for everything :-)

Micaela's doing well. She was a bit sick this last week but is feeling much better. She's looking forward to swimming lessons provided to all 2nd graders starting on the 18th. We'll have to get some pics and video for everyone to see. She's a GREAT big sister and loving every minute of it.

Brian's doing well too. He's been really successful with his business and we're looking forward to the future with it. He started a business called Acai Oregon with his friend Bill (BJ) and so far it's totally awesome. You can check out their website at www.acaioregon.com. They are associated with MonaVie. The health benefits are amazing and we know without the product and without the Lord we would never have our little William.

I'm doing really well considering I just had major surgery 4 weeks ago and was hospitalized for post partum congestive heart failure 3 weeks ago. I've lost 44 lbs since then (all fluid build up, SCARY!) and now I feel GREAT!!! Not to mention looking a lot better too.

We're becoming much healthier as a family and we're very excited about it. Thank you to everyone for all your love, help, support and prayers. We've really reaped the benefits from all of it. We love you and look forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon.

Welcome William Lyle Herring!

William "Liam" was born right on time via c-section. At birth he weighed 10 lbs 3 oz and was 22 inches long. He had a TON of black hair that is all over his head and body. He looks like a little monkey. It's so cute. He's so perfect and we couldn't have been blessed with a more perfect baby. The delivery was more than ideal. Everything went perfectly. I never even had any incision pain. The pain I've been having is actually lower back pain that isn't even related to giving birth. We stayed at Silverton Hospital from Wednesday to Saturday. It was so nice having lots of visitors and really great nurses. We're so proud to have him in our lives. Micaela's such a proud big sister and helps as much as any adult. She's so wonderful.

We did have some complications the day after coming home. I got post-preeclampsia. I've never heard of such a thing but I guess it exists. I had so much fluid built up on my body that I started to get fluid in my lungs. They called it postpartum congestive heart failure. I ended up in the ICU for 1 day and then in the regular unit for 3 days. My blood pressure was super high and my heart couldn't pump off the excess fluid. It was pretty scary but now we've got it under control. I'm doing much better and Liam is doing GREAT! He's so beautiful and fun to have around. Even the loss of sleep doesn't feel like a burden because we waited so long for him to arrive.

We just need lots of prayers and well-wishes. We're are thrilled to welcome our new arrival, William Lyle.

Today's the Day!

It's about 1:30 a.m. right now and I can't sleep! I'm so nervous and so excited. I'm like a little kid at Christmas :-) My countdown ticker on this blog finally says 0 days and I'm still not breathing a sigh of relief. So far everything's planned out perfectly. I just pray it all goes as smoothly as planned. We'll leave our home around 9 a.m. and take Micaela to school. Then Taylor is following us in her car to the hospital. She insisted on being there even if she can't be in the surgery. She was with us for a few hours while I was getting induced with Mic and so she deserves to be there again after all these years :-) We're so excited that she'll be there. Anyway, we check in at Silverton Hospital at 10 a.m. and then the surgery's at 12 noon. We're all packed and ready to go and I can't sleep a wink. I don't even feel tired. I've tried reading and just laying there with my eyes closed but nothing's working. I hope we can have all your prayers with us on this special day. We've really been looking forward to this for years.

Lots of Loves!

1 more week! YEAH!

Only one week to go and counting. I'm starting to have contractions quite often so we'll see if we make it that far :-) We're getting a little more prepared every day. We found a carseat, stroller, pack n play w/bassinet, changing table w/dresser, diaper genie, bottles, onsies and some other really fun things. We got really great deals on all of them too. With everything so far we've spent less than $100 and we got some really nice stuff! I love getting a good deal!

Micaela also got some new socks today. She's pretty much worn through the other ones and is getting too big for them anyway. She's pretty excited about having brand new white socks. It's always nice to have a new pair of cushy socks don't ya think?!?

I have a Dr. appt on Thurs and we'll see if he thinks I'll be able to go another week. Maybe he'll just send me right over to the hospital. Wouldn't that be ideal! We're feeling a little more prepared and a lot less anxious. Things have really come together. God is so GREAT!

Brian's been working on the closet with the help of our friend Bill (BJ) and it's coming together a little more all the time. As soon as we get a closet organizer in there we can finally move in. YEAH! It's only been two years!!! For those of you who don't know, we found mold and dry rot in our closet in the spring of '07 and we tore the closet out and now we're finally getting to work on it. It takes time, knowledge, money and energy. All of which we were short on, but now it's time to get our bed out of the office and into the bedroom where it belongs. We're pretty excited. Mom and Dad gave us some paint to paint the room too. It's a nice tan and will go nicely with our furniture and accessories. I'll have to post some before and after pics. I can hardly wait til it's done.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers and we'll keep you posted on our new arrival and new accomplishments.

Brian's Birthday!

Brian finally decided what he wanted for his birthday. He just wanted to have some friends and family over for a quiet time and some good food. So that's exactly what he got. My parents, his dad and some close friends. In all, it was a really nice party and we had a nice time visiting. Our friends Bill and Michelle got him some of his favorite treats as a gift. Lucky Charms, Skittles and Mt. Dew. It was pretty cute. My mom brought a TON of Syrian food she has made for a church party and she had lots of left overs. The food was AMAZING! It was such a great gift and contribution to our little potluck. We all had a really nice time and Brian felt like he had a great birthday. It was just what he wanted. Happy Birthday Brian!

Fluids for 2 please!

Of course we're still on the countdown and Micaela made another check off list today. She's pretty excited. We're all just about over the flu. Micaela had it first, then me, now Brian. One of these days we'll all be well again. I got pretty dehydrated and started to have contractions so I went to the hospital and they pumped me full of fluids and now I feel much better. Some church members brought us some food last night which was so nice cuz I really didn't have the energy to cook. I slept for almost 14 hours with only a couple of potty interruptions. I really needed the sleep. Today I feel so great! Like I should have been feeling for the last 3 weeks. I guess I'll ask for fluids more often :-)

5 more weeks!

We're on a serious countdown now! We're so excited for our new arrival. I've been really REALLY sick this last week and been in bed for about 5 days. So all the lazing around has really accelerated my swelling. Now I need to get up and move to release some of that water retention :-) But the baby's doing great and so are Brian and Micaela. There's really not a whole lot to report right now. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I'm on insulin now. But the doctor has reassured me that it will most likely go away just after delivery. It better cuz What a Hassle! I commend anyone who has to live with diabetes. What a pain in the fingertips!

Dad's doing better now although he went back to the hospital a week later. It wasn't his heart this time. It was low blood sugar and sever dehydration. We're so blessed that he keeps getting better. His stents are all working very well and he's feeling a bit better every day. God is GREAT!

Brian's birthday is this Friday. He says he's turning 29 again but it's really his BIG 40! Isn't that amazing! He looks so great for 40! He's blessed with really great skin ;-) We might go to the coast but he's undecided on what he wants to do. So we'll put pics up later to let you know where and how we celebrated. Micaela's excited about it of course. So I'm sure she'll want to go see the beach. Maybe we'll let her decide.

So Happy March and I hope it's lucky for us all. Keep in touch!
